Life of a Gambling Addict

Last weekend was pretty rough. With heavy bets on BYU (NCAA) and Chicago, Houston, and Minnesota (NFL), my balance with my bookie is near zero. What does that mean? More bets! I have a lot of ground to make up folks! Before I go onto my non-locks, more thoughts...

- As a Mizzou Grad, there isn't much that can pump me up during the Holiday Season like our annual clash with Illinois on the Hardwood for the Braggin' Rights Game. Eight straight losses have been painful. However, Mizzou is ranked for the first time since 2004 and the season looks promising. Oh yeah, nice football season Illinois. Juuuuuuuuice!!! <------ What a joke...
- Last night the Bears forced OT. They were laying 4 points to the Packers. So, going into OT gave me a glimmer of hope. I wasn't rooting for the Bears, I was rooting for the Bears to score a TD only. A FG does me no good. Robbie Gould hits a FG. Sweet...money down the drain...

- For the millionth time this past weekend I got the "NBA sucks. They travel too much." SHUT. UP. The NBA is the best basketball out there. Period. No, I'm not talking about atmosphere. College B-ball will always have that. But if you are talking pure, freak athleticism...NBA is where it is at. I can watch a random NBA game on any given night and always find myself amazed at some high-flying circus act dunk or drive to the lane. Not so in college basketball. Just sayin'...

- The MLB luxury tax has hit up the Yankees for $26.9 million this year. Yikes. The Yankees answer? Let's spend more money! Hurray!

- Missouri Pro football has gotten so bad, both the Chiefs and the Rams had their president/GM's "resign". It could be worse...see Detroit if you have any questions.

On to picks....

TCU vs Boise St. +3
Notre Dame -2 vs Hawaii
Florida Atlantic +7 vs Central Michigan
West Virginia -1.5 vs North Carolina
Wisconsin +5.5 vs Florida St.
Miami +7.5 vs California
Northern Illinois -1 vs Louisiana Tech
NC State +7 vs Rutgers
Northwestern vs Missouri -12.5 (5-star Alumni Special)
