Really, there hasn't been much going on in the sports world that is that exciting as of late. College Football is in a lull. NFL only happens once a week (for the most part...does anyone actually watch the Thursday night games?). MLB's biggest news is Rafael Furcal...yawn. NHL, is well, the NHL (I could probably blog a 10-page essay on this one. NHL used to be my favorite sport. Something called the lock-out happened and I magically lost interest). College Basketball isn't at it's exciting stage yet. Once conference season gets going, things start to heat up. NBA is the same way. It's fun to watch a random game on TBS during the middle of the week, but you can't get too excited knowing that the marathon playoffs do not arrive until spring. However, I do have some thoughts...
- Check out Mayne Street on espn.com. Really funny stuff. I want to be just like Kenny Mayne when I grow up.
- The Red Sox are in/out of talks for Mark Teixeira. I'm at the point that anything Boston Sports related makes me want to throw up. After years of disappointment and pain, Boston sports fans have enough memories for 3 lifetimes. It's sickening.
- I finished 9-5 in my fantasy football season this year...and managed to miss the playoffs with a 4-way tie for 3rd place. I was last out of the 4 way tie in a tie-breaker and didn't make the top 4. So with the Rams being beyond terrible and no fantasy implications, the only way to make this NFL interesting is?....Betting!!! I. Love. Betting. Period.
College Bowl season starts tomorrow. This means I will give a pick on every game. No in-depth analysis. Just too many games to cover. But here we go...PICKS FOR THIS WEEKEND!!!
Navy vs Wake Forest -2.5
Fresno St. -3 vs Colorado St
Memphis +11.5 vs South Florida
BYU +3 vs Arizona
Troy vs Southern Mississippi +4.5
Merry Christmas Everyone. If that offends you, Happy Holidays, or screw you. Either one works for me.
